IAR C-130A. Does anybody know if they are restoring this to flight status or taking it apart?

Wonderful image Jay. Am I correct in identifying this as a Pitts Model 12? Man that thing is a real beast with that radial - it launched like a rocket.

I'll go with Pitts Model 12, sure...

I've never nailed down exactly what it started out as so I've simply known it as what it's labeled: "Pitts Monster"

Did a little research and (if I've got my facts rights) N450CT is a Pitts Model 12 that was built by a fellow in Gilbert in 2009 (http://www.pittsmodel12.com/gallery.php). This sucker started life as a radial Pitts. The "Monster" in this bad boy is a Vedeneyev M14P Russian nine cylinder radial that develops 360hp. These planes are built or sold as kits by Jim Kimball Enterprises out of Florida. This kind of thing gets my heart pumping.

Your photo really does this plane justice.

Beautiful shot of that Meyer, Jay.  Rare bird.

Hey James - very nice photo of the Kitfox 5. You really did a great job of panning with this bad boy; even the big ballon tire has rotational blur  ;D

Weather Service is predicting high in the upper 90s for this Saturday, but it's getting down to 60 overnight, so the morning should be pretty nice.
