Thanks Joe, he moved directly outboard a ways and then broke.  Kind of caught me off guard.

I remember reading long ago on "Airliners" that they wouldn't accept backlit photos.  Hmmm.  Yet almost every painting by Keith Ferris is backlit.  Guess I'll delete this one from my files.

That's a sharp shot for being caught off guard.  Benefit of being conservative with the shutter speed, I'd imagine.

1/180 @ f/8 ISO 125 - Photo is cropped to about half the original width.  Thank God for modern cameras with lots of pixels.

Wow, I would have guessed 1/250 or 1/320.  Gyro?

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Thanks Matt!  Lucked out with it being the color bird. I'd like to be able to claim that I planned it that way but it was pure coincidence. The squadron didn't plan it either.

No Gyro.  Too awkward unless I really think I need it.  The blades look pretty stationary when viewed from the side like that.  I took some at 1/125 and 1/60 but the keeper rate went way down.  The 1/60th ones in particular where on the soft side. No surprise there.
