The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Thought this might be interesting to you P-38 fans.

Believe it or not, this is "Skidoo" as it looked 40 years ago at Ed Maloney's Air Museum in Ontario, CA, the predecessor of Planes of Fame.

No comments on the picture quality please. It's the historical value that counts here.  :)

This was scanned from a slide that wasn't very good to start with. The photographer (me) obviously didn't know what he was doing.

It was also the L.A. Basin before smog control kicked in. There wasn't really any sky as such.

Something about the plane seemed off to me. After staring at it for a minute it then dawned on me that it's missing the wings....
Aside from my inability to notice the obvious, that is an interesting picture. You should be able to clean it up if you have photoshop or lightroom.
