QuoteAnother relic with which I have an obsession...
Beautiful! Love that aluminum skin in the dusk light.  One of my favorite aircraft too.  I remember when that C-124 was still on base but parked near a road along with some other aircraft.  Kind of an early celebrity row back in the sixties.  Close by were a while bunch of single-seat Voodoos. Here she is back in 1979.

Thanks Scott. I'm told that the C-124 was nicknamed "old shaky" and that long flights were not considered comfortable. Love your old photos.

Friend? Would be more of a secret girl friend for me  ;)

I could easily spend hours shooting your "long time friend". Great work.

"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."

I'M GOING TO TWEET ABOUT THIS SUNSET

As you might imagine Joe, I love the tight framing you choose for this image. IMO, you've captured all the unique design elements of the T-37 without going "wide" and photographing the entire airplane. The low (signature Copalman) angle helps emphasize the distinct shape of the canopy yet you've kept it below the horizontal lines of the T-tail - a nice touch. Finally, I like how the Tweet is in quiet light while the Catalina Foothills are vibrantly illuminated by another great Tucson sunset - it creates a wonderful contrast. Well done sir.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Is this a recent acquisition? Just doesn't seem to "fit" as a PASM display; at least not yet.

I am afraid the F-16 is not for PASM... :(

It hardly seems possible that F-16s would be going to museums and converted into target drones.  I remember when the F-102s and F-100s were being converted to drones in the late seventies and early eighties and those aircraft seemed pretty old to me then. In reality they were only twenty something years old.  The F-16As are older than that now!  Even some of the Cs and Ds are over thirty years old.
