Horseshoe Bend up near Page...
Originally shot this back in 2007 but re-worked it with current workflow touches.
Blended image via Smart Objects in CS6 and then the usual Nik product rinses.

Had a fun afternoon out at the Lower Salt River with Bo today.  After an Indiana Jones-style adventure through the dense bushes and trees and after asking a few fishermen where to go, we came upon this:

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Wonderful image Matt. The late afternoon winter light hits the south side of Red Mountain beautifully and creates a gorgeous reflection. One of your very best images IMO. Granite Reef has always been a favorite place and you've captured it at it's very best.

Side note for any members that might also fish; there are some seriously large Flatheads in that stretch of slow water - and the occasional Diamondback  ;)

Chris,

That Durango & Silverton shot; was that taken just leaving the station in Durango?  I've signed up to ride the Iron Horse Race again this year, so I'll be up there at the end of May.
