Just as the setting sun was bathing PASM's English Electric F.53 Lightning with nearly perfect warm light, our favorite vagrant California aviation photographer photo-bombed my carefully framed image and performed some type of unnatural act  :o   :o   :o

I'm confident that Ken will be happy to autograph 8x10 glossies upon request  ;)   ;D

Maybe title the picture, Mother's Milk.  ;D

Great shots guys. Wish I could have made it, but I had a wedding to attend. As it turns out, I should have shot it as well.

@Matt - Let me add my kudos to the others; wonderful work on the Superfortress.

@Joe - Did you paint "Orion The Hunter" or is that ambient light? Either way, a very nicely balanced exposure young man.

Thanks, Jeff.  This was light-painted with (I believe) three flash pops.  25-second exposure at f/5, ISO 640.  Total compromise shot, as I had to push the ISO and open up the aperture a bit to "freeze" the stars while still getting a decent exposure off the P-3.  I'm pretty impressed with how image quality held up at a mid-range ISO like that on the 70D.

@ Harvey - You know how I feel about monochrome images and the Hustler, well done sir.

@ Dave - Mucho Gusto Senior. Lovin' the tight crops; especially the Connie.

Agreed, both solid shots, Dave.  Also loving the nod to Switzerland's three main languages on that title.

Can't wait to see your Starship shots.

Joe,
Thats one cool shot of the P-3 with the Orion constellation in the background.

Like my fellow photographers on this outing, I spent the first hour or so trying to capture some of the wonderful golden light that comes at sunset. I'm particularly fond of the Fairey Gannet PASM has on display. After the sun had gone behind the mountains to the west of Tucson, the Gannet was bathed in a very soft warm hue that I thought illuminated this unique airplane in a striking fashion.
