Has anybody ever seen this Mustang at Falcon Field? Apparently it's been there a long time.

Hey Chris,
I have seen that Mustang.  It used to be a Cleveland Air Races contender, if not winner. 
I last saw it way back around 2000 +/- 3 years.
I rode in the owners T-6 up to Sedona, for an Air-to-Air shoot.  But since I was in the subject T-6, I just got shots of the camera plane Mooney, and the awesome Sedona backdrop. 
At the time, I was told the Mustang had just received a complete restoration, but hadn't been flown much as the owner couldn't afford the $25,000 a year insurance bill.  He was working a few angles to arrange that to be paid.  Interesting the plane is still there. 
I haven't talked to the owner for many years.

I've seen it in company with STANG both at Falcon and Deer Valley.  Seems to show up in a lot of AZAP Photos.

It's a shame it's just sitting there, but I'll bet the insurance to fly it is a lot more now than it was then. I wonder why he doesn't sell it. Mustangs are worth a pretty penny these days.
