When I took a ride in a 172 last week, the pilot had an iPad in his lap for the whole flight with a sectional chart up and GPS tracking. That is in addition to the GPS unit on the top of the panel. He also had his pre-start and pre-flight checklists on his iPhone. A paperless airplane!

The Twin Comanche in the photo is N8206Y, if anybody is interested.

Thanks for the assist Chris...

Don't know if anyone has seen one, but there is an LSA-qualilfied Cub model that has a spot in the panel for an iPad and I think it then becomes the primary flight display!

Pretty sure "Door: Secured" comes right before "Flight Controls: Free and Correct" in the pre-take off checklist...
