Great shot, Scott.  That DC-3 doesn't look like too bad a photo platform.

Thanks Joe!  There was one good window that was relatively free of scratches but required becoming a contortionist to get a shot through it due to the way the seats were arranged!  I was surprised how quiet it was inside.

"Maniyak" on the ramp .. 12/3/11

Is it just me, or can others envision Jay taking this photograph? He had to be doing his imitation of Joe (placement of his body in a reverentially or submissively prone position), at a strategic location (100 yards +/- away from the Yak), with his 500L glass flat on the Coolidge ramp. There had to be at least one Coolidgite stopped in the middle of placing a large portion of pancake into his pie hole and wondering what this guy was doing with the big camera laying on the concrete in rainy weather.

This may have some thinking that van Gogh's behavior was less bizarre that originally concluded  ;D  ;D  ;D

The DOF and gradient are PUUUUUUUUURE Beckman.

Killer static shot.  Love the helmet and the absence of chocks.

Just picture me standing in South Payson and you have some idea of how far I had to back up with the 500mm...

Bokeh courtesy of simply shooting wide open.

Glad  it strikes a chord.

The details just scream "LET'S GO!"  Always cool when you can get that kind of latent dynamism in a static shot.
