... I am completely lost when the sun is not there. Can anyone suggest a place to start learning about light from the very beginning?

Scott, check out this blog.  It can be a lengthy read, but it's full of some good info:  http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/04/lighting-101-build-pro-synch-cord-pt-1.html

I was much less apprehensive about Tuesday night after reading it.  Just remember to have fun and experiment.

"You don't become a professional simply by earning certificates, adding ratings, or getting a paycheck for flying. Rather, professionalism is a mindset. It comes from having the attitude, the ethics, and the discipline to do the right thing — every time, all the time, regardless of who's watching."

Chirs, I see you got it working. Nice.
yes! I forgot to tell you that the card recovery thing you told me about worked perfect, I had to find a cracked version of the software but the photo's I thought I deleted were still there as well as many others, still trying to wrap my head around how that works

Wonderful conversion Jay. From my view in the cheap seats, it sure looks like a challenging subject - such a large bird at night. I really like this angle and crop.

PS - The taglines/titles you give your photographs are excellent. You really have a unique talent for capturing aviation history in both image and word.

Thanks Jeff...

I've been consumed lately by a need to present images in a more "formal" and "finished" fashion.  Probably just a phase but I'm having some fun with it.
