Just another view of the EC-121:

Rylan and I recently spent a fun, hot afternoon down at PASM.  I'm currently hooked on taking photos of the artwork on military aircraft and vehicles, and I'm calling this project The Art of War.  I know it's not the most original title, but it seems fitting.

Anyway, here are a few of my favorites from our recent visit.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

I agree, Matt.  It should look really good once it is painted.

An update of sorts, plus a couple of odds and ends.

I had the opportunity to do some aerial shots earlier in the week.  Good fun!

Mostly primer for now--the primary paint color will soon be over the entire airplane.

How many gallons of paint does a big plane like that need?

Looking forward to seeing it out on display again.

For that airplane we expect to have used approximately 20 gallons of ADC Gray when it is all done.  Plus, we'll have used a similar quantity of primer under the paint.  So, repainting an airplane of that size is no small undertaking!

Looking good, John! Is that High and Mighty One?

Yes, the unpainted B-52A is that airplane.  It is still a ways off from being done, but it will get there.
