I thought it might be fun to start a thread for this year's Holiday Heavies event/meet-up. I'll go first. I have always liked the DHL bright yellow paint. Heck, I think it makes a 767 (my least favorite Boeing platform) look gorgeous in the early morning light.

Any of you boys seen an cargo ramp around here?

Another winner Jeff, lots of interest in the photo besides the main subject, great eye! Where are you shooting this from? Great perspective and no fence visible, obviously early morning.

Thanks Harvey. That image was taken approximately 100-200 yards east of 24th Street on the north side of Old Tower Road. The photo below is from the cargo ramp as the crews began loading aircraft for the morning launches.

Great shots everyone! I'm glad to see a lot of people taking advantage of the extra cargo traffic. Sorry, I could not make it out and join everyone.

Caught this not-so-little elf this morning. While the ramp behind him looks empty, he was the last of a long line of Santa's helpers that headed out in a rush this morning.

I'm glad you were able to catch some action this morning Brother Dave. Yesterday (Tuesday) I kept telling Matt that I thought the cargo traffic was likely over for the morning and then another 757, MD-11, A-300 or 747 would make an appearance. I started to wonder where they were parking all these heavies ;)

Nothing but winners in this thread, feel a bit undergunned posting a modest spotter-shot, but this was the main type I was chasing this season and I wound up catching this one under pretty cool circumstances (it was taking the active right as I was pulling up on the berm).
This A300 is another rarity for me. Caught him this morning too, on a nice, clean tarmac as he taxied out for takeoff.

Dave, Nice look on the A300....
Interesting the shape of the nose with the light reflections. Looks like it has some big flat surfaces, less rounded then I would have thought.
Scott that looks like one of the I.Q. test. 'One of these does not belong'

Thanks Joe, Anna, and Paul regarding the "Ground Clutter" shot. Dave and I were both down at that end of the runway. I'm sure Dave got a similar shot. I don't recall seeing that many little guys all waiting at one time. There seemed to be something holding things up, not sure what.
Actually, AmFlight's departures seem to have gotten looser over the past few years. I remember shooting the holiday traffic in '09 and '10 when they were based on the north side of the field, and like clockwork, they'd all cross the bridge just east of the tower to the south side for departure, all in a row, followed by what looked like an old SAC-style MITO departure of all of them from the south runway. It was really cool to see, and your shot totally reminded me of that.
