I was wondering that too ,is Southwest going to have MD's in its fleet or is Air Tran going to keep its colors?

They plan on keeping them, repainting and making them single seat class, so they should look interesting.

Wow, that doesn't make much business sense.  Having a common airframe (B737 Series Aircraft) keeps a pretty common maintenance and training pipeline and saves money and increases profit.  Adding MDs/B717s alters that philosophy completely.  I figured the acquisition was purely to get their routes.

I thought so as well, but i guess it means that air tran pilots will stick to airtran routes, so SWA pilots dont have to be retrained.
