Smoke On!

Very nice, Jay. I've done a couple B&W this time myself. The light wasn't the best, and B&W seems to get em through that problem, to some degree.

The complete opposite of my 4x5 large format photographs. This image was taken with my iPhone, I used the Apple "Airdrop" feature to transfer the image as a "TIFF" file directly to my iMac, and then "washed" the TIFF file through Lightroom before posting. Not that I would ever consider my iPhone the equal to any of my film or digital cameras, it does a nice job when your cameras are not handy. I was scouting locations for my large format photography and found this old warrior working on his tan at the Coolidge Airport. It is next to the Pinal County Sheriff's hanger, so I suspect it is a project for their aviation group.  Normally I dislike lens flare and avoid it at all costs. But in this circumstance, I felt it added a stylish "flair" to the final image. Commissioned into the US Army in 1970, this Blackhorse was once a member of the 6th Cavalry Brigade (Air Combat).

Excellent composition on the Thunderbolt Ross.

The Ol' One Eighty

From my very first A2A, this positively gorgeous 180 cruises over Phoenix. This plane has won best in class at OSH a couple times and I was thrilled to be able to shoot it!

Terrific work Brian. That 180 is definitely a "looker".

Thank you, Jeff. Shooting from the front cockpit of a Stearman made for one wonderful experience!
