I get kind of spoiled living here in Yuma... With WTI twice a year and the Marines and transients flying around most days - not much else here in Yuma though.

Finally got my "Full Disk" Osprey shot a few weeks ago after they arrived here for WTI.

There's been lots of great action over the past several weeks and tomorrow is "Fun with Marines" in the park!!

I've not seen any big jet airplanes with funky disks or antennas all over this round. But there was this pretty special turboprop with antennas all over it.

The HADR exercise is in full swing right now! I'm stuck at home for a little while longer, but I'm getting a really good show from my backyard!! I live less than a mile south of Kiwanis Park and today they are following the canal in and out!! A couple H-53's were so low and slow, I got rotor wash - at home!!

Great shots Mike! Especially on the Osprey.

Killer shots Mike. I struggle with the sky out there. Sometimes I have some color to work with. Other times it's just a whitewashed mess.

I love me a bit of Osprey.

I have more work to do. I have a bunch of CH-53 shots, but haven't really gone through them yet.

Thanks Chris!

Thanks Scott, you too! I typically just avoid mid-day all together out here... It's tough, unless there are clouds.

Yeah, shooting at 3:00 is not the best option, but it was the only option out at the base.

3pm on is when the light at the Fairgrounds keeps getting better and better, and you're close enough to where heat haze doesn't get too insane.

The light gets better and better, right up to sunset... Shot mid-field.

Stoked I was able to catch some VMAQ-4 Prowlers before the squadron stands down this summer.   :'(
