I will kick off the post for our night shoot at PASM this evening.

Was an interesting challenge shooting tonight with no moon.

Big shout out on this image to Ross for working as the voice-activated light stand.  We used my battery operated, led shop light for the continuous lighting.  Joe edged out the left side of the cockpit with a bit of light painting.  Thus the different color temps of light.

It looked like you guys were having fun over there at the end of the night.  Looks great and I can't wait to see more!

Thanks everyone for coming out.  It seemed like a good night and I saw a lot of shooting going on just about everywhere I went, so I am excited to see what gets posted.

I am still bogged down processing stuff I shot in July, but this one didn't take much work and I didn't want to miss out on the fun of the thread!

DELTA DARK

I've shot this bird before, but I think I finally found an angle on it.  Great seeing everyone out there last night.  Jay, hope you feel better soon!

MAESTRO DEL MUNDO v2.0

Finally had a rematch with this monster more than three years after my first attempt was thwarted by Dave Shields' "Waiting on you, Princess" phonecall letting me know we were ten minutes over our allotted time out there and everyone was waiting on me.  Made sure to do this earlier in the evening so as to have enough time to get it right.

Nice work, Ross and Joe.

Ross: My eyes are always pulled back to the B-36 landing gear.

Joe: The bright light on the C-124 with the colored background is a very cool look.

I am loving what you guys are posting, John, Joe and Ross.   Very nicely done.   :)

GOLDEN GLOW

For all the hoopla over the Starfighter being painted in the SEA camo and PRANG markings, it really came out looking fantastic.

Joe / Anna:  The Mystere is definitely a great subject to shoot in low light.

Tried something a bit different this time around, I guess the correct term for it would be "Lightpoaching."  Basically, if people were set up on one side of the aircraft throwing a bunch of light on it, I'd position myself on the opposite side to get the outline effect,  Definitely something I want to try more of out there.

Nicely done, Joe.  I was trying to do the same thing with the unlit side of the B-36 for a while.  The B-36 required so much light on the bright side that I didn't really make it work on the darker side--but I think it deserves more experimentation, too.

And now the "D" model B-52...

Oh sweet.  That BUFF would be such a good subject for it too with the dark paint and the gloss finish.

I actually started doing this on the B-36 when Rich and Steven were lighting it up from one side with their insanely-bright little worklights.  Had no intentions of shooting the B-36 that night, but when I was walking past it I saw the outline of the cockpit and nose lit up from the other side and it was too cool-looking not to shoot.  Definitely want to try that again.
