Absolutely awesome Jay!
The previous pic, what mts are those in the background?
Cheers, Bill

Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure which chunk of rock that is.  If I had to guess, I'd say Piestawa (formerly Squaw) Peak maybe?

I don't think it's Squaw Peak.
The peak and the towers initially had me thinking it might be the White Tanks, but the more I look at it, it may be S Mt with the Estrellas in the background.
Great shot none the less.

I'll have to go back and look at what was around us before and after this shot.  I know we were flying northeast of Falcon with the B-17 and after SJ landed, we moved farther south and east toward the Superstitions so I'm fairly confident we had to be looking west or south west here.

You might be right of course, but that doesn't look like enough aerials for the antennae farm on South Mountain.

If only I'd had a GPS running at the time to tag the images!

Bill is spot on - South Mountain in the foreground with the tallest peak in the Sierra Estrella in the background.

Hat tip to my Arizona Geology course at ASU.
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."
