Was the power cart running on the Varig 767?  It was back in June - so it makes me thing that one is just being stored temporarily.

Not good for Continental when these are parked here:

More to come.

Has anyone been out at Goodyear lately? I liveout here and am on the flight path as they come in to the airport, looked like they had a few come in, one looked to be a 767. Let me know if anyone is planning on going out, I have been thinking of taking a trip

Does the NASCAR air force (aircraft belonging to drivers, teams, officials, sponsors, etc.) usually use this airport on race weekends? Or, do they go somewhere else?

If here, is there any good location to take photos of them?

I don't know about locations out there, but there are quite a few of them that do use Goodyear.

A good number of them have started using Goodyear as the airport has become more corporate aircraft friendly.  Traditionally Roush & Gibbs and any teams contracting with ExpressJet have used PHX though.

As for good photo locations out at GYR, I really haven't found much... though for late afternoon shooting of the boneyard aircraft, the new baseball stadiums on the west side have some great public access spots with sidewalks that go behind them.

My .02 :-)

Thanks,
Ryan

Thanks, guys. I'll have to check out that location by the baseball fields.

Thanks, Jason. I'll probably go by there in November when the racers are in town again.

Of course, the plane in your first picture (N6JR) is the one that Jack Roush crashed at Oshkosh this year.
