If you like to take pictures of things other than planes..........

Feb 26-27     Indy Car testing at PIR. Free admission on this one.

Feb. 26-28     NHRA at Wild Horse Pass raceway.

Feb 27-28      WEROCK rock crawl outside Congress, Az, a few miles down Date Creek Road, which is off Highway 89 just north of Congress. Truly a cool event. It's a thinking man's game. You'll understand when you see what they have to climb over.

March 4-6     Good Guys car show at Westworld in Scottsdale.

March 5        Caffiene and Cars at Corvette Performance Arizona.  2318 N Scottsdale Rd. This event is every first Saturday of the month.

March 19      Coffee and Cars at the Penske auto dealerships just south of 101 and Scottsdale Rd. There's also an auto museum worth a look. This is the third Saturday every month. http://scottsdale.carsandcoffee.info/

April 2-3       Indy Car race at PIR. Same weekend as The Luke AFB show, if you care to juggle events.

April 16-17    K-9 police dog trials at Goodyear ballpark. This is an excellent event. You see some badass pups and the occasional funny dog that marches to his own drummer.

May 14th     AMA mile dirt track racing at Turf Paradise. http://www.amaproracing.com/ft/events/event.cfm?year=2016&eid=2016021615

I have a photo credential for NHRA, going to be there Friday for qualifying, only day with starting line access, and Sunday roaming around staging lanes and pits.

Has anyone been to event at PIR? Whats the shooting like?  How much access will an event like testing offer? General questions I have.  I'm thinking this where I'm gonna be headed on Saturday.

Ross, went to NASCAR testing about 8-9 years ago at PIR, sat up in the stands. Place was pretty much empty so you can move around as the sun moves, don't have any pics to show, I think they were on an external hard drive that stopped working. I tried to sit up as high as possible to get over the fences.  Didn't think to see if I could get down lower to shoot thru the fence or see if there was a cutout to shoot thru.

Thanks for the Intel. I'm headed out that ways for sure tomorrow. Excited to see what I can get.
