First crossing pass of the 2016 season (for me)
By the way... Ever wonder which jet to follow?
Who's going to pass closest to the crowd/who to track? (pretty sure this is correct)
Opposing knife edge pass - Left
Inverted to inverted aileron rolls - Right
Opposing min radius turns - Right
Opposing horizontal aileron rolls - Right
Opposing four point rolls - Left
Opposing split s' - Right (track right who will become left)

The end of the day provided some pretty colors!
Pair of T-45's RTB, hit initial over the numbers, lead drops wingman and stays in turn, now the break - slick!

Very nice set of photos Scott, you did well on the different shades of blue.  ;D

I seriously need some instruction in this area. I'd have to believe consistency is important, but the unedited shots also have a variety of shades of blue. So what is a guy to do? Keep them all the same, thereby modding some pics way more than others? Leave them all as they originally are? It's not an issue until you stack them up like I did in my last post. If you saw only one shot, it would not matter.

If they're all different, then they're all different...

Nothing wrong with that.

Jay, that "Flying Fish" shot is spectacular. How you managed to get that much prop blur and a sharp shot while panning in an awkward position is beyond me. Well done!

After my getting that score of 90/10 (left brain/right brain) on that Facebook test, it makes sense to me that I see all sorts of wrong with that.  ;D

Time Warp...
T-45C Goshawk from VT-7 "Eagles"

Experimented most all afternoon, runway side, with really slow shutter speeds and the Sony.  88mm, iso 100, f/22, 1/60 sec in Shutter Priority mode with the Sony A7Rii, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II with the Metabones T Smart Adapter Mark IV.  High speed panning shots are not the best fit for the Sony and its electronic viewfinder.  Blind squirrel and all his lieutenants at work here.

The effect I was hoping to get with the motion blur and just one area in sharp focus.  Getting the in focus area nailed on the airframe was interesting.  I need to adjust the lead on the pan to get the focus in the correct location, was mostly nailing the back half of the aircraft. I think this is attributed to electronic view finder delay and the aircraft was further left in frame in real life compared to what I was seeing in the viewfinder.  The amount of lead required is different then with my Canon.

^^^^ You got that shot with your Sony Anna! I genuflect in your general direction. Not only would I never have tried that type of shot with that camera, but I sure as heck would not have gotten an image that terrific. Well done young lady.
