I just watched it. I haven't seen it in probably two decades.

T-38s are MIGs? Really?

But I must say, Kelly McGillis in the ball cap and aviator jacket was smooooooking hot. Too bad she's playing for the other team these days.

F-5s, but yes.  At least one of the Navy aggressor squadrons (VFC-13 at Fallon I think) pays tribute to this with an all-black F-5F.

Check out the Iron Eagle movies some time.  In the first one, Israeli Kfirs are 'MiGs.'  In the second one, Israeli F-4s are 'MiGs.'

I think Viper was in the F5. The "MIGs" were T-38s.

No, that's an F-5 - very similar to the T-38.  The instructors in the movie all flew A-4s.

Ah, OK. Is there much different between the T-38 and F-5, other than two seats in the 38?
