The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Just like a sunset represents the end of a day, this sunset, taken from Vulture's Row, represents the end of my USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) photos.  Thanks for taking this journey with me, and I hope that y'all have enjoyed the photography.

A wonderful set of images for sure Matt. This last one is extra special. That view is probably one of the reasons some folks get addicted to sailing the seas. Simply beautiful.

Thanks Jeff, this exact view is exactly why I love sailing the seas! I've spent the night on three ships, two cruises and one aircraft carrier, and believe me, this view is what's special about those adventures. Well, and the fighter jets, this ship had fighter jets!

#127
I spent some time going through my photos and I have pulled a couple from the vault.  This one has never been seen before, and I have another one that is a re-edit.

Launch the Alert 5 Aircraft
This is the Ready Five launching from the number three catapult, it was the first launch of the day.  This VFA-41 Super Hornet sat ready on the catapult for over an hour and they had to refuel it before it launched.
