^^^^ Tom, I really like how you've framed this image. The tight crop creates an interesting composition of textures and detail. Well done sir.
Thanks Jeff!

My recent visit to Edwards AFB left me craving more info.  I stumbled across this YouTube video today.  While it seems very amateurish at first, it is one of the most informative videos I have seen.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IERyhj0G2q4

I'm inclined to think that Edwards is a better place to shoot than Nellis...

Ha!  Yes.  By *that* metric and a few others.

CLEANING UP
VERY NICE! A pilot that knows when to pull the gear up! (and a photographer that knew where to position himself!)

Thanks Scott!  That was my favorite movement of the day, precisely because of the pilot's quick clean-up.

Love the Meteor! Those big round nacelles centered on the wing, broad chord. The F.8 was particularly nice looking. This one looks like the radar equiped two-seater.  Where was that rare bird located?

I'm a big fan myself - you can definitely see where the designers of the Canberra, one of my all time favorites, took some of their inspiration.  This one is an NF.11 night-fighter variant that was later converted as a target tug.  This is at the AFFTC Museum at Edwards.

BUSY LITTLE B

NASA 809, which, before being assigned to numerous other test projects, had been used by NACA as a testbed during "Project Bee" to validate the use of liquid hydrogen as a fuel.  This was also the first production B-57B to be fitted with 20mm cannons.
