Very nice set from SF Ross, it's not quantity, it's quality. And your quality is on the rise. I hope the same for your new career goals!

Thanks Harvey.  I have definitely learned from the elders of this group how to squeeze the most out of a photographic adventure/opportunity (most of you are my elder).  And for that I am forever grateful.  Things are on the up and up with comedy so I should be famous in 10-12 years.

All great stuff, but that last shot is WHOOOAAAAAMYGOSHGOOD.

Joe,

When I came around a blind turn to a familiar lookout near Berkley, I uttered words similar to yours.  I quickly slammed on the brakes, jumped out, took three shots, and watched the sun disappear behind the clouds and slowly fade over the horizon.  Expect the unexpected when it comes to photography.  I got lucky because five minutes earlier or later and I'd have missed this scene altogether.

Again thank you for your thoughts.

That is all.

Very nice shots, Ross.

How goes the comedy stuff?

Thanks Scott.  This month represents 1 year of performing and learning stand up comedy as a craft, skill, and possible future profession.  One year in and I can say that I am more progressed than when I started, yet still have many roads to travel.  I'm starting to figure out may writing style and what works for me.  Performing in front of an audience with a microphone is just small part of what goes into creating comedy.  The writing, networking, doing your homework(listening back and transcribing your recorded sets), going to shows and supporting your fellow comics take up bulk of the work.  It is the hardest thing I have ever undertaken in life thus far.  There are nuances unseen or unheard that you have to be able to pick up on.  I appreciate this groups support in this endeavor.  Means a lot.

And for that I thank you.

P.S.  Comedy is going good   ;D

Post up dates when you are doing a gig, so we can get out there and heckle you.

Ross, have you checked out Stir Crazy Comedy Club at Westgate, they have stand up comedy classes there.   stircrazycomedyclub.com

I am aware of Stir Crazy.  Haven't played at the venue yet, but know comics who have.  I'd frequent more often if it wasn't on west side.  As for the comedy classes, it would be quite remedial at this point in time.  I am learning the same way I did photography. Just jumping in feet first and learning by hands on experience.  It's only a matter of time till you can say you knew me when.

A few more frames I have finished processing from San Francisco.  This set was shot while waiting for a BART train at the embarcadero station.  I am working on becoming more comfortable shooting peoples at danger close range.  Doesn't help that the shutter click on my 1Ds can be heard by even the deaf.  I am taking a liking to the street photography genre because it encompasses just about any subject in a city.  Allows for an artistic freedom that holds no bars.

Just don't forget us little people! HAHA! Also, nice BART shots. Digging the shift in your photo style.

The little people are responsible for who I am today whether it be behind the lens or mic.  And that I can never forget.

Thank you for the kudos. I need to start approaching my own city and localities with same photographic eye as I do when I travel.

A few from NHRA last month, didn't get to really get any off track shots because Friday was a rainout, only a few guys ran.

Bouncing around between folders.  Searching for critique/creative input on these. Specifically 1 and 3.

This guy was having his photo taken by someone else.  The Canon 100mm 2.8 is an amazing portrait lens.  I like to photograph people when they don't know they're being photographed and have naturally become part of the scene.

This one looks like you chopped the guy from another image and dropped him in. The effect is kinda cool, with the hazy, slightly out of focus background.

Looks solid, though I wonder why there's more snow lower on the peaks... Haha!

I actually like this one the best. Maybe lighten the foreground just a bit?
