Looking for recommendations for some good reading/texts on understanding color and light.  I am trying to get a handle on how Hue, Saturation and Luminance work together with all the other settings in Lightroom and Photoshop.  I need to get a better understanding of the color and light theory, so I know what sliders to push/pull and why.

I am not so much looking on how to use Lightroom and Photoshop.  Looking more to understand the science of color and light.

Thanks....   :)

I recommend either;

PERFECT EXPOSURE by Michael Freeman, or

THE DIGITAL ZONE SYSTEM by Robert Fisher

I have both and would be happy to loan them to you.

Jeff,

Thank you for your kind offer to borrow the books.  I appreciate it.  I plan to get Kindle versions to read on my iPad.

I am also remembering that I have Michael Freeman's The Photographer's Eye.  I had bought it way back in 2009 when I was getting into computer aided, photo realistic rendering with the cad work I do.  I need to re-read that book along with your two suggestions.

Thanks for the recommendations.
