My humble attempt...

Flying down the runway at the end of an air-to-air photo shoot during Air2AirWorkshops' last workshop of the year.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Egad, Jay!  That Citation shot is a stunner.  Viveza'ed?

Not much really...  Mostly strong contrast.

The only real slight of hand was to add a "Brighter" gradient from the bottom edge to just under the wings to bring the runway chevrons out a little more.  I also cloned out some poles on the treeline.  The dark "smudge" just above the trees at camera right was actually there.  Not sure what's causing it through all the heat haze but it's not as a result of cloning.

Power/Telephone lines.  Looks like the jet exhaust smeared them together.  Sometimes I clone 'em out, sometimes I leave 'em.

(One of those shots that has me wishing I could financially justify 2.8 glass and something a bit less noisy than a 50D.  But like Rumsfeld says, "You go to war with the Army you have, not the Army you want").

Because this page doesn't have enough Short Brothers' aircraft on it:

Joe - Are you implying there was a "Shortage"?

I like this shot. No sophisticated analysis to follow.

KFFZ - 1967

In 1967 much of the original WWII RAF buildings (see area where park is now located) were still intact - although in various states of disrepair. The officers swimming pool in the center of the park area became Mesa's 2nd public pool and it is where I took formal swimming lessons as a youngster - my time spent goofing around in SRP's canals did not count with my mother. In my early teenage years, my best friend and I would ride our bikes to Falcon on Saturdays, hangout at the old RAF tower building (between the two hangers), and beg pilots for rides. You'd be surprised how many times we got to go flying with some stranger. I still beg for free rides; however, it rarely if ever works today  ;D
