Joe,

Powerful shot! Those clouds look like you could stand on them.

This afternoon a US Army C-23C Sherpa arrived at Falcon. The pilot said they had come from Springfield MO. In looking at the profile of this bird, it makes me wonder if the fine boys in Belfast were trying to achieve some type of tribute to the potato.

Love that nose-on shot, Jeff.

Here's another angle on this beast:

Thanks Joe. I wish I had the courage to lay on the asphalt like you to get that great low angle - well done. I still am marveling at the narrow width of the Sherpa's wings. Obviously, they work great; however, they remind me of a wing you'd find on a Cessna 182 - not a large plane like the C-23. Oh well, what do I know  ;D

Wonder if it's the same bird we saw at Nellis in 2010 with ISAP?

Unfortunately, I don't think I caught a tail number with mine.  :'(

You never know. The s/n on the Falcon visitor is 93-1328. It is written right below the pilots left-side window (not the tail). Not that it is a big deal; however, I'm wondering if you could crop-in and read it on your image?

BTW, nasty prop disks brother man  ;D  Almost (I say almost) makes this flying potato look sexy  ;)

That's why you zoom out as they get closer - OH WAIT.  ;D

No, one only needs to go get the shot five frames earlier...  ;D

Caught one of Boeing's Block III test birds out there this morning.  Kind of a cool flight profile - would take off, hover, then fly sideways along the length of the taxiway, then fly forward back to the starting point, then repeat it a few times.  This worked out good for me, as it meant that most of the aircraft was well-lit, instead of back-lit.

Not strictly a photo taken at Falcon Field but we did take off from there. I guess that counts.  Another shot of OV-10G BuNo 155492 taken on a test flight over Roosevelt Lake during April of 2005.  The odd bright area at the lower right edge of the canopy was aluminum tape holding on wiring for propeller instrumentation.

Here's OV-10A 67-14670 just after a test flight in August of 2006. Now flying with the FAC (Colombia).
