Was this from the big "no info" event held on the 16th?

Indeed it was.  Turned out being a Chamber of Commerce event with local businesses displaying whatever they make/sell/do at booths, and local restaurants providing free food.

Aircraft displayed outside were hit-or-miss.  Stang was right under a big set of halogen work lights, totally unshootable.  Even if you didn't get the lights in the shot, you'd get a ton of light-bleed and hazy-rays in the image.  The B-25 well-lit from the rear, but the front half was totally shadowed, so no matter how you exposed a shot, it looked goofy.  The Bobcat, C-47, SNJ, and the B-17 (from a handful of angles) were all placed nicely for long-exposure shots.  The Apache was unshootable as well.  The ramp was really crowded early on, but the crowds thinned out after an hour or so and you could get good 30-second exposures without people walking through.

You don't concentrate on risks. You concentrate on results. No risk is too great to prevent the necessary job from getting done.

Makes me wonder though ,it has been some time since I been able to make it out to Falcon ,can someone tell me if any of the C-54's still exist and maybe their current state

Here's a shot of one and a half Douglas transports at Falcon that I took during the Gathering of Legends on November 13:

There's another parked in the dirt lot just to the west of Sabena's big hangar.

New rule: Chris Pasley needs to ask about cool stuff more often.

Driving home from work, I noticed one of the C-54s on the CAF ramp with a crane near it.  I heard a sound that I thought was a generator of some sort, but it was actually one of the engines.

I've been wanting to see these fly for a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time, hopefully this means I'll have that chance in the near future.

Wow, nice catch, and all this time I thought the Arizona Wing was collecting junk and storing it on their ramp!

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Last shot from today.  Saw this on final as I was walking back to my car and ran back to my spot to catch it.
