G-BNLY landing last night. Note the new inboard engine that was replaced due to a compressor stall.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Landor Heritage Livery

I've always loved this livery, and I remember when this was BA's mainline livery.  Great to see this at PHX once again.

A couple of cell phone photos from around Sky Harbor.  Sometimes I just need to breakup the work routine and take a photo or two.

Working nights/weekends isn't so bad, at least my office has a view.

Very nice night photography Matt. With such hot prolonged Arizona summer temperatures this is a great way to beat the heat and heat shimmers and have something really great to show for it.  Some summer days it just doesn't pay to be outside unless it's really necessary.

Thank you, and I guess it's a good thing I work inside on these hot, summer nights.

Living in a town with an airport that is lucky to see a 717 every day as its largest movement, the launch of British Airways' 3 retro 747s this year seemed like something unattainable for me as a photographer. As luck would have it, BA was kind enough to send the Negus-liveried 747-400 to Sky Harbor yesterday, and while it was a race against the quickly-setting sun, it wound up making for some gorgeous shots.

It was great getting to meet up with Srs. Copalman and Navarro yesterday as well!

So glad I finally made the effort to catch one of the BA specials before they wrap up 747 ops later this week.  Great seeing Jonathan & Nick out there as well.
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."
