Pardon the terrible lighting, but this merits posting in spite of it.  In the foreground is one of the nine F/A-18Es from VFA-81 that came into PHX this evening (I only caught three - apparently some gremlins held up the other six in Arkansas until later).  In the background is an American MD-80 carrying none other than Dave S., off to meet up with Sentimental Journey for his first tour stint as a B-17 crew-chief-in-training.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

New Zealand Air Force 757 @ PHX today.  It came 45 minutes early, so Rob and I missed it landing, but we managed to get it taxiing from customs @ T4 over to the Swift ramp.

Thanks Jason - it was BRUTAL out there today.  Rob and I were out from 2:30ish to 5 and the heat was just unrelenting.

Heat-hazy letdown for this classic trash-hauler:
