...I left 40th Street about 15 minutes prior to arrival for Air Lane, I chose poorly.

I chose to not listen to Anna's positive argument as to why the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner would be using the south runway this evening, so 15 minutes prior to arrival I bailed from 40th Street for Air Lane.  This is all I came home with:

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Thanks Jeff! It appears your time was very well spent on the north side.  Wonderful composition.  Also shows off the scimitar winglets quite nicely.

What a beautiful aircraft.....

This evening's collective volley of shots from everyone at PHX is, in the words of Jimmy Walker, DYN-O-MIIIIIITE!
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."

Thanks Joe. I'm really loving this departure shot of Anna's, I completely missed that opportunity due to operator error!

A fine consolation prize Matt....  It is definitely that time of year to start exploring the north side of the airport.

The BA 747 and AA 787 landed less than two minutes apart.  Two 200 foot wing span aircraft on the north side active and taxiway, at the same time, seemed like it would be a bit tight.

Fantastic seeing everyone's images from tonight.  What a phenomenal set of shots.  Nicely done AzAP'ers.....   :)

I am hoping for a repeat performance Tuesday evening.

Definitely some excellent work from all the AzAP crew at PHX Monday evening. Dave's shot of the 747 smoking the mains and Anna's departure are extra special.

The view from the north of what might have been.....

Boeing Boeing.

American's second 787-8 N801AC parked on the taxiway during its visit to Sky Harbor this afternoon. British Airways 747-436 G-BNLX landed a short time later.
