Re-Import/export with Lightroom 3?

I have found some of the photos I edited with lightroom in the past I am not very fond of however when I open lightroom and go to open the folder those photos are in lightroom shows them as greyed out and will not let me open them again to edit again even though the orginal photos still exist untouched (I export to a seperate folder), anyone know why or how I can fix this

Try synchronizing the folder and see if LR rediscovers the files.

Do you see the actual files where you expect them if you examine the folder outside LR?
