Congratulations Jay.  I've always liked those shots.  I'm sure they have and will continue to inspire 'copycat' shots.  The sincerest form of flattery is copying, so they say.

Way to go James.  Nice of the pilot to angle the plane to give you a head on shot.  Sometimes it does help to be in the right place.  I expect that was a memorable landing.

All righty then James and Jay - enough genuflecting in the mirror. How do you sleep at night hawging so much bandwidth with your digital images and the excessive use of wood pulp to print your photographs in national publications? Most of us are happy to share our humble offerings on AzAP and Flickr. But noooooooooo, you two become nationally recogninzed and hardly a week goes by without some type of new public kudo. Hells Bells, when I told my dad about your latest exploits he asked if both of you would be teaching seminars at ISAP-X! I hope you are both happy with how you've raised the bar in aviation photography.

BY THE WAY - OUTSTANDING WORK AND MY HEART-FELT CONGRATSULATION  ;D

OK - I'll go as long as I don't have to eat Sushi. Should I pack my collection of susohiki kimonos or did you have something else in mind?  ;D

BTW - Was that Jack Roush piloting that A310 in the Azores? It reminds me of his short final at Osh  :o  ;D

The left main looks slightly bowed.  That's got to be tuff on the mains.  Great timing and an excellent photo.

I've had two photos published in recent issues of National Guard Magazine, with a third on the way.

This one from the AZ National Guard Combat Arms Challenge was run in the April issue:

This one is in the current (June 2011) issue:

This one is supposed to be published in the July issue:

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.
