As the end of 2011 approaches, I thought it might be interesting for each of us to post our favorite aviation image of the year. Specifically, an image you've shot and really stands out for you compared to your other photos. I know this is highly subjective; however, I also think it is an interesting exercise and I'd love to see what my fellow aviation photography addicts think was their best image of 2011.

As I've been reviewing my photos from this year, one in particular kept surfacing as my favorite - of course it would be a monochrome. Here it is...

All righty then, lets see what image from your 2011 inventory rings your chimes - don't be bashful  ;D

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Boy that's tough, 2011 was a banner year. I'd have to say this one from Chino because it's something I totally wasn't expecting to happen and chance somehow makes an exciting moment just a little bit special.

My favorite is one which while is not of an aircraft, I feel captures the love of aviation.

Joe being Joe at the Fifi shoot at DVT. The dude loves his aircraft.

My favorite from 2011...

To me, this speaks volumes about what's good and right about airshows, the power of dreams and the need to have heroes, even if it's just "Dad."
