The Warmth of a Winter's Shadow




This is the only one I will get to tonight, but this evening was a fine evening at KSDL.  Bizjet traffic was lighter than it has been the last two days, but the soft light made everything better.  Right around dusk two aircraft were spotted due east of the airport flying in formation.  It turned out they were the first of two pairs of F-18's headed into Scottsdale for some fuel and possible overnight stay.   While the first pair got set up to land a Medivac UH-60 came from northwest and flew the length of the runway.  It was icing on the cake.  Kicking myself in the butt for trying to be a shutter hero, but I alas I still cam away with one or two that I found acceptable of keeping.

I actually didn't realize until I got home that I took those shots at ISO 250 and on aperture priority mode. Either way, I'm glad that I got some keepers...
