Additional testing of my 5D3 on moving targets and at different times of day. I'm trying to get more familiar with the platform in different environments.

Jeff, 5D3 appears to be working well!  Curious what focal length you were using on the photo with the thumb-like rock formation.  I really need to get out there to shoot.  Great light and background.   Not all that far from my house.  Used to wotk there in the late 70's.

Excellent series Jeff and cool shot of Tom's Thumb in the background on the first one.  I'd say your 5D3 is working out nice for you.

Thanks Scott. Thus far, I could not be happier with the 5D3. That was shot with my 100-400L at 365mm focal length. Since the 5D3 is a full frame sensor, I don't get any additional reach like I do with the crop sensor on my 7D. This image is cropped at 100% at 2.39:1 ratio. Regarding KSDL, I think it is a great place to shoot, especially in the afternoon/evening. Let me know and I'd enjoy shooting with you at Scottsdale sometime.

Thanks Tom. I half expected to see you out there this afternoon. Interesting side note; when I was younger and nearly 80 pounds lighter (with my hair halfway down my back), I climbed Tom's Thumb at least a half dozen times. One of these days, I need to dig those photos out and scan a few for posting humor purposes only - damn hippy  ;D

Thanks Jay, it was good to see everyone out there (could have used more airshow arrival traffic though).
