Post photos from the two-year anniversary dinner and the night shoot out at Coolidge with IAR's aircraft here.  Thanks to everyone who came out, and to IAR for hosting our shoot on such short notice.

This is the utterly, truly, completely quick and dirty edit using seven layers...

I need to go back and:
- Cut out the windows more smoothly and selectively as well as balance the masks so the windows all have similar luminance values
(Chris we did catch your flash head in three of them so lighting from inside would be much, much better.)
- Work on blending the three fuselage shots more cleanly so there aren't so many "smudges"
- Clean up underneath better and try to keep the red light from splattering quite so much
- See if I can figure out how to get the very faint outline of me out of it which is kind of hidden by the AzAP logo.
(Guess I hesitated just a little too long on one take.  There was a surprising amount of ambient spill just from the faint streetlight all the way across the ramp!)
Thanks again to Chris and Rob for brainstorming this with me!  Learned a lot on this attempt.  Can't wait to try it again!

DUDE!

This came out better than I thought it would.  Can't wait to see what spending a bit more time on the edit yields.

I had a great time at both dinner and Coolidge. It was most enjoyable to rub shoulders with everyone and continue my photography education. Night shooting seriously tasks me in the digital world and I've got a lot to learn. I will be working on my Herc photos for a while. Hopefully, I can achieve the image I had in my brain pan. In the mean time, I swung the camera 180 and took a photo of the hanger area. I look forward to the next sortie.

Initial PP effort on a more conventional composition - more work to do.

1st swing at an HDR image - halos and artifacts galore.

Actually I planned it that way, sort of.  I wanted to do a long exposure with someone walking through it. :)
