Negative Ghost Rider, unless they renumbered the runways, he landed Saturday on 30R.

He did seem just a little farther away than normal.
I'll have to review the video.
I didn't hold a gun to anyone's head.  I pulled off where I wanted to shoot from.

I was wondering why everyone's shots looked like they were posted from west of Ellsworth.  With VERY few exceptions, heavies go 30R/12L at Willie.

Disagree, actually the opposite.

Billiam - I was told 30L by Uncle Jack; not you. In all fairness, I would have likely gone there anyway since that seems to be where the An-124 typically lands. Oh well, there will always be another time. When that time comes, we should divide and conquer. Some shooting 30R, some on 30C, and others on 30L. That way, at least a couple of us will get decent images  ;D  ;D  ;D

Might just be a function of when we're out there and what we catch that the other doesn't, but I'm not seeing a lot of heavies using 30L/12R.  747s use 30R almost exclusively, and the 10 Tanker DC-10s tended to land 30R or 30C as much as if not more than 30L when they operated out of there (takeoffs were primarily 30L).  The one C-5 I've caught out there departed 30R.  Weapons school C-17s are on the far runways more often than not, as were those McGuire KC-10s that were at Willie earlier this year.  I've caught two An-124 arrivals there, one on 12C and another 30R, and I know of others I didn't catch that were non-30L arrivals.  Looking at the An-124 thread on the forum, only one arrival (that anybody caught) appears to have been 30L, and that was a Polet Flight one in January 2011.  The last two An-124 departures from Willie have both been 12L.

The only heavy I know of that consistently lands 30L is the March C-17 that ferries reservists around on drill weekends.
