I wonder if the Hounds of Heaven ever imagined that they would go from Vipers to the Dash-8..... A lovely image of BRAC in all its splendor....

Nice light on a rare bird, Joe!

And I'm sure their families appreciate the more frequent and less predictable deployments to places the pilots and crews can't talk about.   :-\

Is it me, or is that Dash-8 wearing old Shuttle America (Northeast Commuter Line from 1998-2001) livery?  Curious as I flew on them a lot and probably was on that ship a time or two.

Thanks,
Ryan

If so, it's a repaint, as most (all?) of the Dash-8s that went to AFSOC are ex-Horizon birds.

There's a picture of this one, in Horizon colors here:

Under the comments on that page is another picture of it, in current colors, flying over Algiers.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Thanks guys!  What's odd about this shot is that it was hands-down the sharpest of the set I took, yet there is some pretty obvious "overbite" in the prop disc.  I've got a few others that aren't as sharp due to camera shake, yet the disc is absolutely perfect.  Weird, right?

ETA: Worth noting is that the aircraft was stationary at this point, so there was no motion other than the prop.
