The schedule says they will have a Huey at this stop. None of the other stops in the Phoenix area include that.

IIRC, the Huey lives at SDL so it will be a one-stop local addition...

Mike Dillon, no doubt. He could toss a rock and hit the other planes.

Is that the same Huey that flew into Coolidge awhile back then?

The Collings Huey is N911KK, former Marines 153762. It's painted in Marines Vietnam colors.

Well, that is most likely not Dillon's Huey.

The Huey registered to Dillon Precision Products in Scottsdale is N205DP. It is ex-Army 68-16056, and is painted in Army colors.

According to the Collings web site, their Huey is based in Houston, along with their other Vietnam War Collection aircraft.

Ok then.  ;D

I've had a good look at Dillon's Huey some time ago. I was up at Dillon buying reloading stuff. It had just come back from testing, a mini gun out at Goldwater. It was rather humorous because the interior of the copter was filled with spent casings and fast food wrappers, complete with Doritos all over the floor. It looked like a teenager's car.

I would have LOVED to have seen that!

The Collings rep at the night shoot told me he didn't think the Huey would be at Scottsdale, but he wasn't absolutely sure.

Bad location, bad light, it's much easier to shoot @ Deer Valley.  These are the best shots I was able to get.

I have been to scottsdale half a dozen times since I picked up a camera and have not once found a good shooting place, except the industrial lots on the east side but those suck too, if anyone know of a sweet spot please let us know

I understand re: SDL...

#3 is a little, well, rough.  Doesn't really do the subject justice at all.

I spent years living close to SDL, and if you weave your way through the industrial park, you will find good places to shoot, and also stumble upon some awesome classic cars and other things.

Work your way around the East side, getting deep in the parking lots. There's some good places.
