Nice walk around series Vance.

At first I though "Midway would be cool during CoNA!"  Then I thought, "There will be 100,00 rabid NavAir fans in town so maybe not..."

Thanks Jay.  You're probably correct on that.  Are you planning to attend the event?  I spoke to the event coordinator during my visit to San Diego last week for AFCEA West.  NAS North Island will be open to the public on February 12th.  All the color birds will be on static display near the double hanger complex at the West End of the field.  There will be an airborne parade later in the afternoon with all the color birds (Some are Helicopters), followed by an AirWing fly-over.  It should be something to see, but not sure what the crowds are going to be like.  The Fort Rosecrans Cemetary on Point Loma may be a great place for fly-by photographs if you don't want to fight the crowds on Coronado and NAS North Island.  I often go up there for the quiet and to take photos of the helicopters and other aircraft departing from North Island.  It's almost like taking air to air shots because of the elevation above the field.

Thanks Jay. I really had to be patient with how many people were milling about. I came away with 6-7 really nice photos. I'd like to go back when it isn't as populated. Maybe during the winter time right before the museum closes and catch some nice evening light.

Very grateful for photoshops ability to make unnecessary items in frame disappear. Especially with these images.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.
