Might just be the angle, but it does look a little different. 

Perhaps an adapter for the AIM-9X?

According to my Avitaion Ordinance brother it is the LAU-7 launcher rail for the AIM-9X (good on you Joe) but he couldn't tell if it was a D/A or the newer E/A or F/A version without looking at the data plate. Used because the X doesn't need external coolant for the seeker heads like the older missiles.
