Really like the conversion here Jay. Super polished. The quilted pattern look of the concrete gives it an entirely different feel.

And Jeff your opinion on my "Bags Fly Free" image is super humbling.  It means a lot.  Thank you.

This is as much a "Hands On" report as it is a series of images.  I finally attempted a meld between the Canon M5 Mirror-less and the 500mm and while it makes good images, it's nearly impossible to control well with all 12lbs of gear resting solely in your left hand.  It confirms my theory that in order to control long lenses well, you need nearly equal mass in both hands.  I did even try adding the 2X Extender just for S&Gs and I found that the focus tended to hunt excessively and it was very hard to keep subjects in the frame at 1600mm of effective focal length.  I will try it on a Wimberley at the next full moon however!

Anywho, some pics of a FedEx MD-11 on arrival on 7/27.  It was very hot and very scuzzy out:

The traditional full wingspan view with light editing (full 6000x width)

Closer in with a little more "grunge" applied (full 6000 x 4000 frame)

100% Crop (this little puppy will resolve some stuff)

BW Conversion (full 6000 x 4000 frame)

Went to Sky Harbor yesterday to get some shots of Amazon's 767, but I was happily surprised when I saw this guy off in the distance.

Caught today's A380 departure.  Bad news for the passenger needing a medical diversion, good news for Phoenix getting her first (and probably close to last) visit from an A380.

Huge thanks to Ross for the heads up that it was taxiing. Where I was parked I didn't have a view of the airfield so I would have completely missed this opportunity. Thanks Ross!!  :)

I've always liked twilight images from PHX.  You've nailed a couple recently.  Terrific work young man.

Thank you Jeff.  I try to always be practicing the craft of twilight/low light shooting.
