Glad they are OK!  Still puzzled as to how she got there, though.  Clearly she still had a head of steam when she hit the bollard, but it seems like she was coming from due north...???

Was it:  Left pattern for 22L, lost power after the touch, lowered the nose to get it back on the ground, then bounced and took the scenic route south?

QuoteNow the CAF simply needs to restore the artwork to MitS's nostril and all would be right with the world.

I'm curious what it will end up being looking like... Anyone know the plans?  I've been out of the loop.  Each side was unique.  There's no way in Hell I'm painting them again... :)

Probably!  I was having a complete crap day until I saw her fly over.  I miss the old C-45 cargo bird that used to fly out of PHX every morning over our offices.  Not many round engines in central Phoenix anymore...

Thanks Chris.

I looked at the DC-3/C-47 thread.  It may have been one of the 'Spirit of ____" aircraft.  It had the blue stripes...

Anyone catch it?  11:30 a.m. today.  It looked 'new', glossy white with gray on the lower fuselage.  It buzzed our offices climbing out near 48th/Washington.  Really nice!

Wow, a bunch of Yanks around here.  I was born on Westover Air Force base in '67, and grew up in Chicopee.  Moved to AZ when I was 12...

A little more architecture.  Camelback and Piestawa over the sails.  From the roof of SkySong2 earlier this week.  Taken with the 'ol PowerShot.

Ditto.  I have a small flying habit, a small shooting (firearms) habit, and a small motorcycle habit in addition to my other small habits.

Spread too thin, but loving every minute of it.   Thus my signature...  :)

Chris,

I may be the only one on here that can say this:  You have a better camera than me.   :)

Shouldn't have worn a red shirt!  Different franchise, same result...

Thanks for your submissions everyone!

Here is the final composite of the display.  It will be three horizontal banners for portability.  Congrats to those whose images appear.  I believe the resolution as provided will be more than adequate for the full size printing.

The guys at the Wing that are attending ICAS are really excited about the images.

Thanks again!

Update 09-15-12:  I met with Dick Exler this morning and he'd like to stick with representing the Wing's flying aircraft.  He'd also prefer the images to show the aircraft in flight.

Does anyone have images of the 'new' Stearman in flight?

Also looking for additional images of the C-47 in flight.

Thanks everyone!

Nice stuff, everyone!

Anyone have shots of the L-bird?  Even a hangar/maintenance shot would work.

Thanks,

Todd
