News / Google Acquisition of Flickr
January 23, 2012, 09:49:27 AM
Received a notice from Flickr Piqnik regarding some changes that are on the horizon.  The first being that Picnik goes away as of April 19th.  It will be replaced by a Google product.  That's a relatively minor issue, I think, but what other changes can we expect.  Will this have an impact on the AZAP site?  FYI just in case you haven't received any notices yet.

Miscellaneous / Bombers Built in 55 Minutes

Henry Ford was determined that he could mass produce bombers
just as he had done with cars. He built the Willow Run assembly plant and proved it..
It was the world's largest building under one roof, even then FORD HAD A BETTER IDEA!

This film will absolutely blow you away - one B-24 every 55 minutes.
ADOLF HITLER HAD NO IDEA THE U.S. WAS CAPABLE OF THIS KIND OF THING.
There is no way he could have even guessed.

For those who live outside of Michigan ,
Willow Run is near Bellville, Canton and Ypsilanti , MI

It's amazing that one B-24 came off the assembly line every 55 minutes

Take a few minutes to watch this snapshot of history. Pretty cool.

Goes anywhere.  Can run silently on batteries, and is high enough to see over those pesky airport fences.   ;D

Anyone from the group going to San Diego for the Naval Aviation Centenial Event at NAS North Island.  The facilitator of the event told me there will be over 100 Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.  The Coast Guard has also painted one of their birds in a retro scheme for this event.

To all,

I am the moderator/monitor of the aforementioned Group, and a recent new member has post some spectacular black and white shots of Sabres and Furys from their operational days.  There are over 200 wonderful shots during that era, so if you are interested in taking a photo tour of history, I encourage you to take a look.  The contributor is Aeroman3.  The photos are very nice...enjoy
