Thank you Matt, you still got some great photos even if they were from LV blvd. I only hope we all can attend the next Red Flag on base we would have a great time. I need to plan better ,you know with all my gear and stuff. LOL.

Maybe you could hire a cargo service to get all your camera bags/gear out there a few days before you arrive.  I think that would work best for somebody with 5 camera bodies and no clean...  ;)

If anything's going to make a vap-trail a Mud Hen's pretty close to a sure thing. Nice shot, composition works well for me.

This is a pretty significant crop from the original - he was really up there.  Really not a whole lot of thought put into this shot, pretty much just "OOOH VAPES! - snapsnapsnapsnapsnap."  That said, I'm pleased with how it came out.

Nice shot Matt.  I saw them flying over my house but didn't get there before they all recovered.  I got the Vipers that came in at sunset, but those images were poor quality because the light was low and they weren't letting any grass grow on their approach...no break, just straight in and land.   Joe got several good shots but he was already there and set up. I finally got a big lense (Sigma 150-500).  What a gem, but takes some practice to pan correctly.

Arrival at RAF Lakenheath most often brings the jets right over the A1065 road and has been rumored to cause a distraction (not sure why ???)

I believe this is an F-15SG, Republic of Singapore 428th FS "Buccaneers" based at Mountain Home.
I've had F-15's flying over the house since last week, but haven't had the chance to get out to Luke and have a look. I couldn't stand it any longer today, and despite a late start, I grabbed my bag and gave it a try.
Not a great shot by any means, but not to bad considering how little light was left at the time.

Thanks for the encouraging words! Believe me, I blurred plenty of them but I was able to get a few keepers.
I went back out a day later and was able to get there earlier, but it seems as though the F-15's are flying later in the day and into the night. Had to crank the ISO again, but was happy to grab what I could given the rarity of Eagles at Luke anymore.

Caught two Bayou Militia F-15s returning to JRB New Orleans on a recent business trip out there.  Found an outstanding location to shoot from, if only the weather had cooperated.  These birds were armed with live missiles, and were returning from a patrol flight along the Gulf Coast.

Where is it venting it from? I was under the impression that the fuel dump vent was located closer to the right wing tip, past the aileron.

It appears to be coming from the right wing tank.  The F15 that departed just ahead of this one was venting some fuel and it got in the afterburner plume and made a large quick burst of orange flame, not all that unusual.

Three MiG killers. During Desert Storm, the left plane shot down a MiG-23 on 28 Jan 1991, the middle plane (Beagle 1) shot down a Mirage F-1 on 19 Jan 1991, and the right plane shot down a Mirage F-1 as well. Sad to see these planes just sitting here, wasting away.

Hello everyone! After a long hiatus I am back. I hope you all are doing well.

In 1991, During Operation Desert Storm, this aircraft (89-0487) was credited with downing an Iraqi Mil Mi-24 Hind helicopter in the air using a GBU-10 laser-guided bomb. In 2012, this aircraft became the first F-15 of any type to log over 10,000 hours.

This was shot with a Nikon 200-500mm zoom, at 500mm on a crop sensor. Fortunately this was the first aircraft in the group to launch as the other aircraft turned out looking like jello.

a first one from Frisian Flag 2018, as in the previous 3 editions, the US ANG was there with a mix of Oregon and Massachusetts ANG F-15C/Ds, as part of a theater security package to strengthen European Air defences. Here is an Oregon ANG F-15C taking of and turning around he small town of Marsum.
