No one hurt during 'landing mishap' at NAF, spokeswoman says

12:55 p.m. PST, December 3, 2010

No was injured Thursday when a fighter jet landed at the Naval Air Facility
El Centro in such a way that the pilot ejected, a spokeswoman said today.
Calling the incident a "mishap," the pilot of a F-18c from the Strike
Fighter Squadron 106 was treated at the NAF for minor cuts and bruises
following the 4:25 p.m. event, said NAF spokeswoman Michelle Dee. The
incident followed a training mission over El Centro, Dee said.
The pilot's name was not released. It was not clear why the pilot ejected
when the jet landed, but no other property or NAF personnel were involved,
Dee said.
