What does this mean. I am looking for a grip for my camera. Thanks

When you have a grip on your camera and you rotate it to the portrait orientation, there's a second shutter button that falls naturally under your right index finger so you don't have to crank your hand over the top of the camera.  Much more comfortable way to shoot portrait oriented shots.

Plus, IMO, grips add mass that makes shooting more stable.

Strictly a "personal taste" accessory...  Some like the ergonomics and extra battery life, some dislike the weight and bulk.

Like I said, I like having one.  Fits the hand better and dampens motion.
