Yeah these are the stories I like to hear, rebirth and not destruction

Lynn Evans

The only flying B-29 in the world !! Listen (and see) carefully as the guy describes how they jockey the throttles during takeoff to stay on the runway.
Another really interesting thing is that they designed it so the pilot has to make huge control inputs for the flight surfaces move just a little --- mainly as a result of not having any control system boost at all. Watch the pilot's inputs during landing.

I got this link from a friend, interesting info.

I cracked up watching this one, an innovative way to clean your lens:

No, not really advocating anyone use this method, but it's good for a laugh or two.

This is not a great video, but it shows a retardant drop by Tanker 40 on the Whitewater Baldy Complex fire. The jet tanker is preceded by a lead plane.

Some great 60's film of aircraft from the Air Museum in Ontario, CA. That's the predecessor to Planes of Fame. The first few minutes are views of static aircraft at Ontario airport. The rest is flying footage taken at LAX. It includes a landing by a P-51 with the gear only partially extended.

Funny to see men acting as ground crew wearing suits and ties.

"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."
