Sentimental Journey - Summer Tour 2010

The time has come for another SJ Summer Tour, and I'm looking forward to it!  This year I'll be out longer, and I'll be a Flight Crew Chief Trainee.  Hopefully I'll be a certified B-17 FCC when I get home.  Here are my dates and locations (just like last year, locations could change):

Sentimental Journey is scheduled to depart Falcon Field on Thurs. May 27, and is scheduled to return to Falcon Field on Mon. Oct. 18.

Sorry, this year I won't be riding her back to the Valley.

Arrival time to all tour stops is Noon, her first stop is Santa Fe Municipal Airport.  It looks like it's about a two hour flight.  My guess would be her departure would be around 9:30am.

Due to the cancellation of SJ and MitS at AIRSHO, we'll be flying SJ back to Mesa from Emporia, Kansas.  I have already made arrangements with the AZ Wing's XO for AzAP members to be allowed on the CAF Ramp for SJ's arrival.  This will be coordinated through Rick, the AZ Wing's Wing Leader.  I will need someone (Joe C. or Dave S.), like last year, to have email communication with Rick to pass on a list of names a week or so prior to our arrival back in Mesa.

SJ and MitS will be going back out for the Santa Maria, NM and El Paso, TX tour stops.  This will bring them back home together on Oct. 18.

CANCELED

My entire tour has been canceled!  I was notified today that the #3 engine is pretty sick, and the engine manufacturer has advised that they return SJ home to Mesa immediately.  SJ was issued a ferry permit today and is expected home on Saturday.  They will scope the engine back here in the hangar and determine if an engine swap is necessary.
